Aug 05, 2009 · All of the Ford cams (B, E, F, X, & Z) are at least somewhat lopey, but they aren't the best perfoming units out there. A Trickflow #1 is in the same "cheap cam" catagory, sounds pretty darn good, and will kick arse on the Ford cams. One of the newer Comp cams would run even better and sound good, but they do cost more.

Apr 25, 2011 · Sounds like a killer deal on the cam/valvetrain. The 302 is a good all around engine (size vs. power, etc) for an RBV, I agree, especially if you plan to go bigger all around, and Im not a 302 hater by any means. Ive had 302's in fullsize trucks that did pretty damn good, and in my opinion, the 302 is the best engine ford ever made.
