A margin of +/- 0.125″ is totally okay. So, for a deck that is 8″ wide trucks an axle width from 7.875″ – 8.125″ are ideal. What size board does 149 trucks fit?

Jun 23, 2020 · I think that 8.5" trucks on a 8.38" deck are nice. From center of board a 8.38" is only .065" bigger on each side than a 8.25" so it's probably not that big of a deal. 148 range is 8.12"-8.38". 149 range is 8.38"-8.62. I use a quarter inch (.25")rule you can overhang or underhand by a quarter inch and you are all good.

Usually a deck between 8.0" to 8.5" for adult skaters is a good choice. If you plan on doing more street than transition skating, start with an 8.0"-8.1". If you're more eager on skating ramps, then you can't go wrong picking an 8.5" deck. But as mentioned above, it will also depend on your morphology, power and age.
