May 13, 2012 · The relief valves in the dump pumps come preset at 2,000 psi. The only way to check that would be with a pressure gauge and some way to restrict the pumps output until it bypassed. Most of the 1" pressure hoses used between the pump and the dump cylinders are also rated at 2,000 psi. so increasing pressure beyond that really isn't a good idea.

It is easy to over fill these things and make a big mess a small hand pump like what they use to fill rear ends and transmissions will be your best bet as far as fluid I would use AW46 standard hydraulic oil.

Mar 23, 2007 · Most dump trucks I have worked on over the years use ISO 32 / SAE 10 viscosity hydraulic oil. Since dump trucks displace a lot of oil when the cylinder is at full extension I suggest using a hydraulic oil that has good demulsibility properties. Since a lot of air will be entering and leaving the sump tank condensation can be a problem.
